Spring 2010 Newsletter by: Danny Faustmann 5/6/2010Welcome to the Spring, Pickers!
This is our Spring Newsletter, and there is a lot to talk about. Right now, you are either out checking out my friends playing all over town or just getting the kids to bed. If you were in the first category, grab some coffee and your favorite accessory and try and remember what happened last night. Otherwise, grab a drink and your favorite chair and let’s talk about the Studio.
I have just updated the lessons page with our new and improved programs. This is a brand new and improved way that GFLS is giving to our Community. As students, you are being given the ability to learn guitar and grow as teachers in your own right. The GFLS students are having a blast and learning fast! There is a fun camaraderie as the students interact during our open lessons, or while checking out some of the best musicians in this city while we raise money for our Community. The Studio is living its own life.
John Scott, our house guitar tech, has been working hard setting up everyone at GFLS. He just did a makeover that came off of the website, and he has been working diligently on rehabbing my Jackson. The guitars are sounding great, and The Abyss has never looked cooler. You can, of course, contact him through www.guitarforlifestudio.com or check him out on Facebook.
Jeremy Jayson, resident teacher, is now fully entrenched in Chasin Mason and having a blast. I seriously have not heard him sound better. He is a great teacher and a whoopin’ guitarist. Get out and see him soon! If you would like to contact him, go to www.guitarforlifestudio.com/edit/tools/contact.asp. Otherwise, just stop him at a show and ask what’s up!
So, what does the Studio have in store for you this month? This JUST happened. I have a tremendous opportunity for you, your band, your friends, and pretty much anyone that loves music. My friend, the WAMI AWARD WINNING SONGWRITER, MICHAEL SEAN, has responded to the overwhelming requests for him to show us how he writes. Have you ever wondered how to write a song? I mean, a really catchy and fun song? Have you seen Bellevue Suite?? (Which, by the way is in the absolute FRONT OF THE PACK to be awarded a chance to record with Slash! I purposefully have left the email list open so that they could contact you about voting for them! PLEASE!!! Go Listen. Go Vote. It takes 1 minute. Literally!)

An Evening with Michael Sean – How does he do it?
Writing Your Best Song…
So, what do you think?!?! Please contact me at my email, or call me about the specifics. This is open to students and non-members but this is NOT FREE and WILL sell out. Students at the time of the seminar get a substantial discount. I cannot wait. Even if you do not play an instrument, you will love the nice intimate setting that you get to see this wonderful and prolific songwriter speak about what makes us love him. Space is limited, EVEN TO STUDENTS, so get on the list quick. Call or email me…NOW!!!
Guitar for Life is taking a road trip to Pittsburgh in May. On May 22nd, Richie Kotzen is playing one of a handful of American shows. If you do not know who Richie Kotzen is, please check out his site. He is one of the most soulful singing, bluesy rippin’, slap your face shreddin’ American guitar players around. He has over 20 albums to his credit, and was ripping peoples faces off in his life before most of our lives involved Prom. I cannot believe the price to go and see his sound check, meet him and talk to him, get a picture with him and hang out and then watch him stun you! The learning opportunity, and absolute fun factor, is through the roof! If you want to go, or are already going, please reply to this email and let me know. I already have two GFLS Members cruising with me. How big can this get??
That is what I have for you, my friends, this month. You are the Community and YOU know first. Pass on this email to whomever you want. Let everyone know that Guitar For Life Studio is having fun, creating fun opportunities, and leading the pack in fantastic guitar education.
Sincerely,
Danny – Owner/Instructor
